CRCA PHILOSOPHY

Mission

At the Cardio Renal Centers of America (CRCA) we are dedicated to providing coordinated treatment of heart and kidney disease by a caring and compassionate team of specialists under one roof.

ABOUT US

The CRCA is a concept that is changing the way medical care is delivered throughout the United States. CRCA is comprised of a visionary team of nephrologists, interventional radiologists, and cardiologists who work in concert with one another to see patients in one setting while providing high-quality care.

When someone has chronic kidney disease or end-stage renal failure, many nephrologists find they have to treat the heart at some point instead of the kidneys. Losing any patient to heart disease is something no longer acceptable. For this reason, the CRCA was developed in collaboration with other physicians, deeply rooted in a philosophy of combined care.

The difficult thing many patients encounter throughout the country is coordinating multiple medical specialists. When a patient, for instance, has a cardiac and renal disease, these parallel each other and are also intertwined. The needs of patients with these diseases require very carefully coordinated care amongst the specialists.

The primary goal of the team at the CRCA is to deliver compassionate care in a coordinated fashion and in the same room. This ensures patients are not being shuffled all over town trying to have appointments with multiple specialists. The CRCA concept allows specialists to combine clinics enabling them to discuss the various ramifications of medication changes or alternate therapies with the patient present.

Currently if someone were to see multiple specialists it might take a month to get into a cardiologist, six weeks to get into seeing a nephrologist, and meanwhile, that information doesn’t transfer seamlessly. In many cases, this type of multiple-care can get disjointed. By combing the clinics, patients can receive a unified message that’s done in a timely fashion. The information is transferred without delay and everyone at CRCA believes this medical management greatly improves the value of one visit. This shortens the time and allows doctors at the CRCA to discover diseases sooner and improve the care of the patient, which is their number one priority.

The cardiovascular, or circulatory system, is comprised of the heart, blood, and three major types of blood vessels: the arteries, which carry the blood away from the heart; the capillaries, which enable the actual exchange of water and chemicals between the blood and the tissues; and the veins, which carry blood from the capillaries back toward the heart. Though seemingly separate, such organs as the heart, lungs, kidneys, and liver work together to transport blood, nutrients, and oxygen to the body’s tissues while removing waste. All organs work together in harmony to keep the body in balance.

With the cardiovascular system, a patient can have heart disease and vascular disease, and kidney patients with diabetes develop leg ulcers and circulation problems. Inevitably, all of these things play into one another. The goal of the team members at CRCA is to take a quality patient-centric approach. They’re not just looking at the kidneys; they’re looking at a person’s heart and vascular flow in an attempt to treat the entire person as opposed to just one organ at a time.

The CRCA system gives patients the opportunity to have first-class, high-end health care This concept will saves lives and a lot of pain and anguish by patients overall.

“At the CRCA, we’ll find the problem. We’ll hunt it down. And we’ll fix it.”
